The events of 12/6/2017

The museum used to be housed in the building of the old school of Vrisa but Vrisa experienced a devastating earthquake on June 12, 2017. This small, historic community, known for its traditional architecture and close-knit population, was significantly impacted by the 6.3-magnitude quake. The earthquake caused widespread destruction, reducing many of Vrisa’s stone houses and buildings to rubble and displacing its residents. In addition to the structural damage, the earthquake tragically resulted in the loss of life and injuries, deeply affecting the local community.
